York Region Bus Terminal
Vaughan, ON, Canada
The York Region Bus Terminal features a series of sloping and curved canopies intersected by a fin wall, clad with 4 mm zinc composite fascia, cap, and soffit panels. The combination of sloping soffits and curved fascia created a complex challenge for both fabricators and installers.
Echometrics was consulted to perform a detailed 3D laser scan of the existing structure and to model the architectural panels with precision, enabling efficient and accurate fabrication and installation. The scan captured the entire subsystem—including concrete, aluminum studs, and parapet components—in high detail. This allowed Echometrics to model panels directly onto the verified structure, fine-tuning reveals to align with the existing curtain wall and optimizing layouts for efficient sheet usage. Each curved and sloped panel surrounding the canopies was modeled to exact specifications, resulting in fabrication tickets and installation documents that ensured every panel fit seamlessly on site.
