Walkley Station LRT

Ottawa, Canada

The Walkley Station LRT includes a continuous sloping canopy that wraps 360 degrees around a fully glazed building envelope. Each soffit elevation intersects with 4mm sloped composite metal fascia and soffit panels, forming intricate multi-angled surfaces that demanded exceptional precision in measurement, alignment, and installation.

Echometrics was brought on to conduct a comprehensive 3D laser scan of the existing structure and develop highly accurate architectural panel models. The scan captured every element of the subsystem—including sloped dense board soffits and parapet details—allowing Echometrics to model panels directly onto the verified structure. By refining reveals and corner alignments within the digital model, the team ensured precise coordination between intersecting panels. The resulting fabrication tickets and installation documents enabled a streamlined, error-free installation process, with every panel fitting exactly as intended.
