The main entrance of the Pickering Casino features a distinctive “curved leaf” design characterized by intricate panel geometry and multi-directional fascia and parapet curves. Echometrics was consulted to perform a detailed 3D-Laser Scan of the existing structure and develop precise architectural panel models to support accurate and efficient fabrication and installation. By aligning the digital model with shop drawings while maintaining the original design intent, Echometrics produced exact panel profiles that enabled first-pass fabrication and flawless installation—with zero rework required.

The entrance canopy was clad with a combination of custom 4 mm aluminum composite panels and 3 mm prefinished plate panels. Using 3D laser scanning, the subsystem—including hatbars, aluminum framing, and parapet—was captured in detail, enabling Echometrics to model panels directly onto the structure, while adjusting the reveals to fit the existing curtain wall. Curved and splined panels spanning multiple elevation depths were modeled with precision. Echometrics produced panel profiles, fabrication tickets, and installation reference documents that led to a flawless, on-schedule installation with zero rework.
